Roy E. Browne

Licensed Architect
Roy is licensed as an architect in both Kansas and Missouri. He has produced countless successful projects of many kinds for over 30 years. In his early years of practice, Roy was a general contractor and knows how to deliver projects which are both creative and practical.

In the residential arena, he has created many custom homes in all price ranges, room additions of all sizes, including adding second floors to existing homes, constructing covered decks, erecting retaining walls, and incorporating swimming pools. He also has produced many smaller projects, such as kitchen expansions requiring the removal of existing bearing walls and replacing them with beams.

With a background in the Social Sciences, he is well equipped to assist homeowners in generating programs for design to create spaces in which they can more successfully live their lifestyles. He is a member of the International Code Council, which writes building codes, and has a good relationship with building officials in the Metro Area.

When he joined NARI many years ago, he was the only architect in that organization. As a commissioner on the Board of Adjustment of Independence for over 15 years, he is experienced in meeting before commissioners. Roy has successfully represented clients before planning commissions, boards of adjustment, city councils, and boards of appeals.
